Data Protection Declaration

§ 1 Information regarding collection of personal data

(1) Hereafter we inform you how we collect personal data when using our website. Personal data are all personal details related to you, i.e. name, address, e-mail address, user behaviour.

(2) Responsible according to article 4 paragraph 7 EU Data Protection Regulation (DS-GVO) is ept Services GmbH, Suelldorfer Landstrasse 240, 22589 Hamburg, Germany (also see our imprint). Our Data Protection Officer may be contacted at datenschutz@ept-services.de or by post adding “Data Protection Officer” to the address.

(3) Contact form: You may contact us with all type of questions through the contact form on our website. A valid e-mail address is necessary so that we can process and answer the request. Further data is voluntary. Data processing by contacting us takes place in accordance to article 6 paragraph 1 S. 1 lit. a DSGVO based on your voluntarily provided consent. The personal data collected by using the contact form is automatically deleted after your request has been dealt with.

(4) In case we need to contact contracted providers for certain areas of our offer, or if we would like to use your data for promotional purposes, we inform you of the respective processes in the details section below. The determined storage time criteria is also mentioned.

§ 2 Your rights

(1) You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • right to information,
  • right to correction or deletion,
  • right to limited processing,
  • right to object to the processing,
  • right to data portability.

(2) Furthermore, you also have the right to complain about processing of your personal data at a data protection supervisory authority. You may contact the supervisory authority of your habitual residence, workplace or our registered office.

§ 3 Collection of personal data by visiting our website

(1) When you only use the website for informational purposes and do not register yourself or provide any other information, we only collect the personal data that your browser sends to our server. If you would like to have a look at our website, we collect the following data which is technically needed in order to display our website and to guarantee stability and safety (legal base is article 6 paragraph 1 S. 1 lit. f DS-GVO):

  • IP-address
  • date and time of the request
  • time difference to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT)
  • content of the request (specific page)
  • access status/HTTP status code
  • respective transferred data volume
  • website from which the request originates
  • browser
  • operating system and its interface
  • language and version of the browser software.

This data is only stored for one day and then automatically deleted.

(2) In addition to the previously mentioned data, cookies are stored on your computer when you use our website. Cookies are small text files related to your browser that are stored on your hard drive and through which the entity placing the cookie (in this case us) receives certain information. Cookies cannot run programmes or transfer viruses to your computer. Cookies are there to make the internet in general more user friendly and efficient.

This website uses the following types of cookies; their extent and function are explained as follows:

  • transient cookies (see a)
  • persistent cookies (see b).

a) Transient cookies are automatically deleted when you close the browser, especially session cookies. These store a so-called session ID by which various requests of your browser can be assigned to the joint session. By this means, your computer can be recognized when visiting our website again. The session cookies are deleted when you logout or close the browser.

b) Persistent cookies are automatically deleted after a certain time period which varies from cookie to cookie. You can delete the cookies in your browser’s safety settings.

c) You can configure your browser’s settings according to your wishes and i.e. reject acceptance of third-party cookies or all cookies. We point out that you may then not be able to use all functions of this website.

§ 4 Objection or revocation of the processing of your data

(1) In case you have provided your consent to processing of your data, you can revoke it at any time. After you have revoked, our legitimacy for processing your personal data changes.

(2) If we process your personal data supported on balancing of interests, you may object to the process. This is the case when the processing especially is not needed in order to perform a contract with you, which is shown in the following explanation of the functions. When you carry out such an objection, we ask you for the reasons why your personal data is not to be processed by us. In case of a justified objection, we check the matter and either stop data processing, adjust it, or show you our mandatory, worth-protecting reasons why we must continue with the data processing.

§ 5 Data Security

(1) We use the common SSL method (Secure Socket Layer) in connection with the highest respective encryption supported by your browser during the website visit. It is mainly a 256 bit encryption. If your browser does not support a 256 bit encryption, we then use 128 bit v3 technology. If a single page of our website is transferred by encryption this can be seen in the closed view of the key or lock symbol in the lower status bar of your browser.

(2) We furthermore use suitable technical and organizational safety procedures in order to protect your data from accidental or intentional manipulations, partial or complete loss, damage or unauthorized access by third parties. Our safety procedures are continuously improved to meet technological developments.

Date and changes to this Data Protection Declaration: This Data Protection Declaration is currently valid and dated May 2018. Due to further development of our website and offers related to it or changes by law or official regulations, it may be necessary to change this Data Protection Declaration.
